Link sharing
Link sharing lets other people open and run one of your workspace circuits without changing your original. New circuits start with link sharing off, and only the circuit's owner can turn it on or off.
Share a circuit
- Open the circuit and click Share, or choose Share… from the circuit's ⋮ menu in the workspace.
- Turn Link sharing on.
- Click Copy link and send the link to the people you want to open the circuit.
Each circuit has one link. It always opens for you, its owner. With link sharing on, it also opens for anyone who has it.
You can copy the same link from the link button next to Share in the editor on wider screens, or from Copy link in the workspace. NumaSim tells you whether the copied link currently opens only for you or for anyone who has it. Only the owner sees these copy-link actions.
What someone with the link can do
Someone who isn't signed in can open and run the circuit and inspect its results. If they try to change it, NumaSim asks them to sign in.
Once signed in, they can try changes in their tab. Those changes never save into your circuit. To keep them, they click Save a copy next to the circuit's name. NumaSim saves the current circuit to their workspace as "name (copy)" and continues in that copy. They can also use Make a copy or Download. They must be signed in to save or download.
The copy counts toward their own plan's circuit limit. On a free account, a copy over 51 electrical nodes or 200 components still runs, and its parameter values can still be changed, but parts cannot be added, removed, or rewired. See Plans & limits.
If they close the tab after making unsaved changes, their browser asks them to confirm first. This also makes one shared link useful for a class: every signed-in student can save and change a separate copy.
A circuit someone shares with you does not appear in your workspace automatically. Keep its link, or save a copy to your own workspace.
Stop sharing
Open Share and turn Link sharing off. The same link then works only for you again. Turning sharing back on later re-enables that link.
Only send a shared link to people you want to see the circuit. Anyone who has it can open the circuit while link sharing is on.
If a link does not open, the circuit was deleted or its owner turned link sharing off. NumaSim cannot tell visitors which happened. If you are not signed in, Sign in on the notice retries the link with your account.
